My friend Bob was visiting and saw me knitting a sock. He asked me to knit him a pair. Sure, I said. What color? My heart skipped a beat when he said “black”. I remember a tip I got from an experienced knitter in my group. She said, when you’re learning something new, a stitch, a technique, whatever, do not use a dark colored yarn.
So, black yarn on size 2 needles scared me. My knitting buddies said ” just say no”. I knew I couldn’t do that. This was for my good friend Bob. Anyway, I love to challenge myself.
My other half and I I went out on a Sunday to buy some yarn. We went to Holda Fiber Arts located at 4468 Middle Country Rd in Calverton. I wound up buying a gray wool yarn that Jen (the proprietor) dyed herself. I also picked up Regia’s pairfect sock yarn. That’s the yarn that guarantees both socks will knit up identically. Cannot wait to use it.

They look great, Bob will love them.
